Robert Nesta Marley was born on the farm of his maternal grandfather in Nine Mile, Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, to Norval Sinclair Marley and Cedella Booker . Norval Marley was a white Jamaican originally from Sussex, England, whose family claimed Syrian Jewish origins.
