Helen Glover (rower)

Helen Glover MBE is a British professional rower and a member of the Great Britain Rowing Team. Ranked the numberfemale rower in the world since 2015, she is a reigning Olympic champion, triple World champion, quintuple World Cup champion and triple European champion. As of May 2015 she and her partner Heather Stanning are the World, Olympic and European record holders, plus the reigning Olympic, World, World Cup and European champions in the womens coxless pairs the first British rowers to hold all seven distinctions simultaneously. She is also a British champion in both womens fours and quad sculls.

Glover was born in Truro hospital to Rachel , a physiotherapist who trained at Guys Hospital, and Jimmy Glover, a school teacher and Oxford University graduate. She grew up in Penzance in a competitive athletic family with older brother Benjamin , younger twin brother Nathan and younger sisters Ruth and Freya .
