Leigh Whannell

Leigh Whannell is an Australian screenwriter, producer, director and actor. He is best known for writing films directed by his friend James Wan, including Saw , Dead Silence , Death Sentence , Insidious and Insidious Chapter. Whannell made his directorial debut on Insidious Chapter 3, which was released in 2015.

Whannell was born in Melbourne, Australia. He believes that he inherited his love of storytelling from his mother, and his fondness of filmmaking from his father, who was a cameraman in the television industry.
