Nicolas Winding Refn

Nicolas Winding Refn is a Danish film director, screenwriter and producer. He moved to the United States in 1981 and is known for directing the crime dramas Bleeder and the Pusher films , the fictionalised biographical film Bronson , the dramatic adventure film Valhalla Rising , the neonoir crime film Drive and the thriller Only God Forgives . In 2008, Refn cofounded the Copenhagenbased production company Space Rocket Nation.

Nicolas Winding Refn was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and raised partly in New York, United States. His parents are Danish film director and editor Anders Refn and cinematographer Vibeke Winding. His halfbrother is Danish singer Kasper Winding.
