Patrick Marleau


Patrick Denis Marleau is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League . Since being drafted second overall by the franchise in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, he has established himself the Sharks alltime leader in goals, even strength goals, power play goals, shorthanded goals, points, shots, games played, and consecutive games played. He played his 1,400th NHL game on March 19th, 2016, against the New York Rangers as of the end of the 201516 season, he is one of onlyNHL players to play in 1,400 games . Additionally, he is the youngest player in NHL history to reach both the 1,300 and 1,400game marks.

Marleau was the youngest player in the 1997 draft class, and he debuted immediately at the start of the 9798 season. This conceptually makes him the youngest player to ever play in the NHL .
