James Andrew Coyne is a Canadian columnist with the National Post and a member of the At Issue panel on CBCs The National. Previously, he has been national editor for Macleans and a columnist with the Globe and Mail.
Coyne was born in Ottawa, Ontario, the son of Hope Meribeth Cameron and James Coyne, who was governor of the Bank of Canada from 1955 to 1961. His paternal greatgrandfather was historian and lawyer James Henry Coyne. His sister is actress Susan Coyne. He is also the cousin of constitutional lawyer Deborah Coyne, who is the mother of Pierre Trudeaus youngest child.
