Bidar Bakht


Muhammad Bidar Bakht was a Mughal prince as the eldest son of Muhammad Azam Shah, who briefly became Mughal Emperor in 1707, and his consort Jahanzeb Banu Begum.

Muhammad Bidar Bakht was born onAugust 1670 to Prince Muhammad Azam and his beloved wife, Jahanzeb Jani Begum. He was named Bidar Bakht by Emperor Aurangzeb, his paternal grandfather. Bidars mother, Jani Begum, was a Mughal princess and was the daughter of Crown Prince Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of his greatgrandfather, Emperor Shah Jahan. The Princes maternal grandparents were, thus, Dara Shikoh and his beloved consort, Nadira Banu Begum.
