Christian Streit White
Christian Streit White was an American military officer, lawyer, court clerk, pisciculturist, and politician in the U.S. states of Virginia and West Virginia.
Christian Streit White was born on March 10, 1839 in Romney, Virginia . He was the secondeldest son of Hampshire County Clerk of Court John Baker White and his second wife Frances Ann Streit White and a grandson of prominent Virginia judge Robert White . His older brother Robert White later served as Attorney General of West Virginia. He was likely named for his maternal grandfather Reverend Christian Streit, a Lutheran minister of Winchester, Virginia, who was of Swiss descent. White received his education at Potomac Seminary in Romney.
