Dietrich Brandis
Sir Dietrich Brandis, KCIE, FRS was a German forester who worked with the British Imperial Forestry Service in colonial India. He is considered the father of tropical forestry.
Dietrich Brandis was born in Bonn, the son of Dr. Christian Brandis, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Bonn.
