Euthymius Fadel


Euthymius Fadel of Maloula was bishop of Zahle and Forzol of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church and took a preeminent part in the 1724 split of the Melkite Church.

Euthymius Fadel was born in Maloula, Syria and he entered in the Basilian Salvatorian Order. On September1724 he was consecrated Bishop by the proCatholic bishop of Saidnaya, Neophytos Nasri, and the following week, on October 1, 1724 he coconsecrated Cyril VI Tanas as bishop and Patriarch of the Melkite Church, so originating the split of the Melkite Church.
