Francis Bowditch Wilby


Francis Bowditch Wilby was a major general in the United States Army who served as the 39th Superintendent of the United States Military Academy from 1942 to 1945, during World War II.

Francis Bowditch Wilby was born on April 24, 1883, in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and was a graduate of Class of 1905. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers on June 13, 1905.
