Friedrich Zickwolff
Friedrich Zickwolff was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Zickwolff died onSeptember 1944 from an infectious disease contracted while serving on the Eastern Front. He was buried in the military cemetery in Ludwigsburg onSeptember 1944.
