George Carter (18th century cricketer)


George Carter was an English cricketer who played in firstclass cricket during the 1740s, chiefly associated with London Cricket Club. He is first recorded playing for London in a single wicket match at the Artillery Ground on Monday,August 1748. Carter took part in two more single wicket contests in 1749, both played for high stakes, and was then a member of Long Robins XI against Tom Faulkners XI at the Artillery Ground on Monday,August 1749.
