George Coulthard was an Australian cricketer and Australian rules footballer. Born and raised on a farm in Victoria, Coulthard moved to Melbourne in his teenage years, where he went on to lead the Carlton Football Club to premiership success in the fledgling VFA, and was, in the opinion of many of his contemporaries, the most skilled player yet seen in the Australian game. However, in a first for the VFA, Coulthard was suspended for onfield fighting in 1882, and he never played again.
