George W. Maher


George Washington Maher was an American architect during the firstquarter of the 20th century. He is considered part of the Prairie Schoolstyle and was known for blending traditional architecture with the Arts amp Craftsstyle.

George Maher was born in Mill Creek, West Virginia, but, as a small boy, moved with his parents, Pennsylvaniaborn Sarah Landis and Frenchborn chemist Theophile Maher, family to New Albany, Indiana, where he attended public elementary school. While in his early teens the family moved to Chicago.
