Glenda Farrell


Glenda Farrell was an American actress of film, television and theater. She is best known for her role as Torchy Blane in the 1930s Warner Bros. film series. With a career spanning more than 50 years, Farrell appeared in over 100 films and television series, and numerous Broadway plays. She won an Emmy Award for best supporting actress for the television series Ben Casey in 1963, and received a star on the hollywood walk of fame on February 8, 1960.

Farrell was born to Charles and Wilhelmina Minnie Farrell of Irish and German descent in Enid, Oklahoma. She had two brothers Richard and Gene.
