Glynis Barber


Glynis BarberBrandon is a South Africanborn British actress of Afrikaner descent. When she was five years old, her parents divorced, and she and her mother moved to Johannesburg. She is best known for her portrayals of Soolin in Blakes 7, Sgt. Harriet Makepeace in the British police drama Dempsey and Makepeace, Fiona Brake in Night and Day, DCI Grace Barraclough in Emmerdale and Glenda Mitchell in EastEnders.

Barber was born in Durban, South Africa, the daughter of Heather Maureen and Frederick Werndly Barry van der Riet. She married actor Paul AntonyBarber, whom she met at drama school, in 1976. They were divorced in 1979.
