Henry F. Chandler


Sergeant Henry F. Chandler was an American soldier who fought in the American Civil War. Chandler received the countrys highest award for bravery during combat, the Medal of Honor, for his action during the Second Battle of Petersburg in Virginia onJune 1864. He was honored with the award onMarch 1898.

Chandler was born in Andover, Massachusetts onSeptember 1835. He enlisted into the 59th Massachusetts Infantry. He died onNovember 1906 and his remains are interred at the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover, Massachusetts.
