Lena Horne
Lena Mary Calhoun Horne was an American jazz and pop music singer, dancer, actress, and civil rights activist.
Lena Horne was born in BedfordStuyvesant, Brooklyn. Reportedly descended from the John C. Calhoun family, both sides of her family were a mixture of European American, Native American, and AfricanAmerican descent, and belonged to the upper stratum of middleclass, welleducated people.
