Louis, Grand Cond%C3%A9

Louis de Bourbon, Prince of Cond was a French general and the most famous representative of the Cond branch of the House of Bourbon. Prior to his fathers death in 1646, he was styled the Duc dEnghien. For his military prowess he was renowned as le Grand Cond.

Louis was born in Paris, the son of Henri de Bourbon, Prince de Cond and Charlotte Marguerite de Montmorency. His father was a first cousinonceremoved of Henry IV, the King of France, and his mother was an heiress of one of Frances leading ducal families.
