Nathan Fellows Dixon, III was a United States Representative and Senator from Rhode Island. Born in Westerly, he attended the common schools of Westerly and Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. He graduated from Brown University in 1869 and from Albany Law School in 1871 he was admitted to the bar that year and commenced practice in Westerly. From 1877 to 1885 he was United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island.
