Nathanael Greene Herreshoff , was an American naval architect and mechanical engineer, was a yacht design innovator, and produced a succession of undefeated Americas Cup defenders between 18931920.
Herreshoff was born on March 18, 1848 in Bristol, Rhode Island and was named after General Nathanael Greene and was the youngest of three brothers, behind Lewis and John B.
