Adelphia Dane Bowen, Jr. was an American career diplomat, Professor Emeritus of History and Economics of Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, published genealogist. He served successively in U.S. Embassies in Switzerland, Paraguay, Sweden, Ecuador, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. He was National Security Advisor for Latin America to Treasury Secretaries John Connally, George Shultz, and William E. Simon. In President Jimmy Carters State Department he was Deputy Coordinator and Acting Coordinator of Cuban Affairs.
