Alexander Smirnov (figure skater)
Alexander Viktorovich Smirnov is a Russian pair skater. Smirnov teamed up with Yuko Kavaguti in May 2006. They are twotime European champions , twotime World bronze medalists , twotime ISU Grand Prix Final bronze medalists , and threetime Russian national champions .
Smirnov was born in Tver, Russia. In November 2006, he earned a diploma in municipality management, and began studying sport theory at a sports university. He married Ekaterina Garus in August 2010. OnOctober 2014 his wife gave birth to their first son. He also has a son from a previous relationship.
