Aliya Mustafina

Aliya Fargatovna Mustafina is a Russian artistic gymnast. She is the 2010 World individual allaround champion, the 2015 European Games individual allaround champion, and the 2013 Universiade individual allaround champion. She is also the 2012 Olympic uneven bars champion, the 2013 World balance beam champion and the 2013 European champion in the allaround and on the uneven bars.

Aliya Mustafina was born into a middleclass family in Yegoryevsk, Russia. Her father, Farhat Mustafin, an ethnic Tatar, was a bronze medalist at the 1976 Summer Olympics in GrecoRoman wrestling, and her mother, Yelena Mustafina, ne Kuznetsova, an ethnic Russian, is a physics teacher. Her younger sister, Nailya, is also a gymnast and a former member of Russias junior national team.
