Beyoncs name is a tribute to her mothers maiden name. Beyoncs younger sister Solange is also a singer and a former member of Destinys Child. Mathew is AfricanAmerican, while Tina is of Louisiana Creole descent . Through her mother, Beyonc is a descendant of Acadian leader Joseph Broussard. She was raised in a Methodist household.
