Bimal Kumar Bose

Bimal Kumar Bose , also known as B. K. Bose, is an electrical engineer, artificial intelligence researcher, scientist, educator, and currently a professor emeritus of power electronics in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Bose was born in Calcutta, India. Bose received his B.E. degree from Bengal Engineering College under University of Calcutta, , M.S. degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison, and Ph.D. degree from University of Calcutta. Bose started his career in India in 1960 and emigrated to USA in 1971 to join Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY as faculty member , then to GE Corporate Research and Development in Schenectady, NY as research engineer , and then he joined the University of Tennessee as a Chaired Professor . Concurrently, he was the Distinguished Scientist and the Chief Scientist of EPRIPower Electronics Applicationg Center.
