Christopher Steytler

The Honourable Christopher David Steytler AO QC is a former judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and President of the Court of Appeal. He was a member of the Supreme Court from 1994 to 2009 and was the Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission from 2009 to 2012.

Steytler was born in South Africa, graduating from the University of Cape Town and practising as a barrister and solicitor in South Africa prior to emigrating to Western Australia in 1976. He joined the independent bar in 1990, and was appointed Queens Counsel in January 1993. He was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1994.
