Daniel James, Jr.


Daniel Chappie James Jr. was a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, who in 1975 became the first African American to reach the rank of fourstar general. He is the third person of SubSaharan origin to become highestranking officer in the Western world after ThomasAlexandre Dumas and Toussaint Louverture .
