Danish Kaneria

Danish Prabha Shanker Kaneria , is a former Pakistani cricketer who played at Test and One Day International for the Pakistani national side between 2000 and 2010. A rightarm leg spinner known for his welldisguised googly. He is fourth on the list of bowlers with most Test wickets for Pakistan, behind only fast bowlers Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Imran Khan. Kaneria was the second Hindu and seventh nonMuslim overall to represent Pakistan in International cricket after Anil Dalpat.

Kaneria was born in Karachi, Sindh, onDecember 1980 to Shri Prabhashankarbhai Laljibhai Kaneria and Srimati Babitaben Prabhashankarbhai Kaneria. His family originally hails from Surat, Gujarat. Nicknamed Danny and NaniDanny, Kaneria attained Government Islamia College in Karachi. Kaneria belongs to the Hindu Gujarati community of Pakistan. Former Pakistani Test wicketkeeper Anil Dalpat is his cousin, and Kaneria is the second Hindu after him to represent the Pakistani team.
