Diego Sanchez

Diego Sanchez is an Mexican American professional mixed martial artist with a background in wrestling and gaidojutsu, a system of submission wrestling developed by his longtime trainer Greg Jackson. Sanchez has competed in the lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight divisions of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He defeated Alex Karalexis, Josh Rafferty, Josh Koscheck and Kenny Florian during the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show, en route to becoming The Ultimate Fightermiddleweight tournament winner.

Sanchez was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he also trains.
