Dominique Amable Coutl%C3%A9e


DominiqueAmable Coutle was a merchant, farmer and political figure in Quebec. He represented Soulanges in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada from 1858 to 1861 and in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1867 to 1871 as a Conservative.

He was born in SaintJosephdeSoulanges, Lower Canada, the son of LouisPierre Coutle and MarieRose Watier. Coutle was mayor of SaintJosephdeSoulanges from 1864 to 1871 and lieutenantcolonel in the militia for Soulanges County. In 1844, he married MarieHenriette Chenier. He was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1861 and again in 1871. He died in Montreal at the age of 59.
