Edgar de Evia

Edgar Domingo Evia y Joutard, known professionally as Edgar de Evia , was a Mexicanborn American photographer.

De Evia was born in Mrida, Yucatn, Mexico. His mother was Pauline Joutard , a Frenchborn pianist who performed under the stage name Miirrha Alhambra. His father was Domingo Fernando Evia y Barbachano , a wealthy landowner who was a member of two families that have been prominent in the politics and culture of Yucatn since the mid 19th century, one of which, the Barbachanos, has been described as one of the most powerful of Yucatns oligarchy.
