Ernst David (soldier)

Ernst David was a highly decorated Obergefreiter in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Ernst David was killed onAugust 1943 in Samoshje, Russia. He was posthumously awarded the Knights Cross onAugust 1943.
