Ferdinand Pi%C3%ABch

Ferdinand Karl Pich is an Austrian business magnate, engineer and executive who was the chairman of the supervisory board of Volkswagen Group untilApril 2015.

Pich was born in Vienna, Austria, to Louise and Anton Pich, a lawyer. He studied at the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz and graduated from the ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in 1962, with a degree in mechanical engineering, having written a master thesis about the development of a Formula One engine. At the same time, Porsche was involved in F1 and developed an 8cylinder engine for the Porsche 804.
