Frank A. Montgomery


Frank Alexander Montgomery was an American politician. He is best known for his memoir of life as a Confederate cavalry officer, called Reminiscences of a Mississippian in Peace and War .

Frank Montgomery was born on January 7, 1830, in Adams County, Mississippi. He was LieutenantColonel of the First Mississippi Cavalry Regiment during The Civil War. He served in the Mississippi Legislature from 1880 to 1896 and one term as a judge on the Fourth Circuit District Court of Mississippi. He died on December 16, 1903, and is buried at Beulah Cemetery in Bolivar County, Mississippi.
