Frida Lyngstad


AnniFrid Synni, Princess Reuss of Plauen , widely known as Frida Lyngstad or by just the mononym Frida , is a Swedish pop and jazz singer. Born in Norway to a Norwegian mother and a German father, she grew up in Sweden and reached international stardom as a member of the pop group ABBA, which has sold over 380 million albums and singles worldwide, making them one of the bestselling music artists in history. After the breakup of ABBA, she continued an international solo singing career with mixed success. In 1996, Frida recorded her final album before retiring from music. She now focuses on environmental issues.

AnniFrid Synni Lyngstad was born in Bjrksen, a small village in Ballangen near Narvik, in northern Norway, to a Norwegian mother, Synni Lyngstad , and a German soldier father, a Sergeant in the Wehrmacht, Alfred Haase just after the end of the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway. Lyngstads father returned to Germany when his troops were evacuated.
