George Goodman (politician)

Sir George Goodman MP was an English woolstapler, a magistrate for the borough and county of Leeds, as well as a Liberal politician. OnJanuary 1836, he was elected the first Mayor of Leeds after the Municipal Corporations Act 1835, and he served as a Member of Parliament for Leeds from 1852 to 1857.
