Hans Dietrich von Tiesenhausen

HansDiedrich Freiherr von Tiesenhausen was a Kapitnleutnant with the Kriegsmarine during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross . The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.

Von Tiesenhausen was born onFebruary 1913 in Riga, at the time part of the Governorate of Livonia of the Russian Empire, as a member of the Baltic German nobility family Tiesenhausen and son of Gerhard von Tiesenhausen.
