Henry P. Haun


Henry Peter Haun was a California Judge and U.S. Senator from California. He was appointed by Governor John Bigler to serve out Senator David C. Brodericks term following his predecessors death in a duel.

Haun was born to John Haun and wife Katherine Winter Haun at Hauns Mill near Lexington, Kentucky. On October 27, 1848 he married a cousin, Catherine Haun. The couple traveled overland to California during the gold rush of 1849. They had two children, Kate and David Rose .
