Herbert Abratis

Herbert Karl Abratis was a highly decorated Major in the Fallschirmjger during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Herbert Abratis was killed onMarch 1945 south of Stettin.

Abratis was born onMarch 1918 in Babienten, Sensburg in East Prussia, presentday Mrgowo, Poland.
