Hubert Rohault de Fleury (painter)
HubertJeanBaptiste Rohault de Fleury was a French painter and philanthropist. He was one of the initiators of the Basilica of SacrCur, Paris.
Hubert Rohault de Fleury was born in the 8th arrondissement of Paris onDecember 1828. His brother was Georges Rohault de Fleury , who shared his deep religious beliefs. Their father was Charles Rohault de Fleury and their grandfather Hubert Rohault de Fleury , both architects. His mother died in 1840, and his adolescence was difficult. At the age ofhe gained permission from his father to join the merchant marine as an apprentice officer.
