Ignatius Kung PinMei was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Shanghai, China, from 1950 until his death. He spentyears in Chinese prisons for defying attempts by Chinas Communist government to control Roman Catholics in the country through the governmentapproved Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association.
