Jacques Picard
Jacques Picard was a notary and political figure in Quebec. He represented RichmondWolfe from 1867 to 1890 and Wolfe from 1890 to 1892 as a Conservative member in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec.
He was born in Saintelisabeth, Lower Canada, the son of Jacques Picard and Thrse Lebeau. Picard was educated at the Collge de lAssomption and the Sminaire de Joliette. He qualified as a notary in 1852 and set up practice at Wotton. Picard was mayor of Wotton from 1860 to 1862 and registrar for Wolfe County from 1862 to 1867. He was also a justice of the peace, a lieutenantcolonel in the militia and served as a member of the school board and president of the Agricultural Society.
