Jagjit Singh Aurora


Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Arora was a Threestar General in the Indian Army. He was the General Officer CommandinginChief of the Eastern Command during the IndoPakistani War of 1971. He led the ground forces campaign in the Eastern front of the war, which led to an overwhelming defeat of the Pakistan Army and the creation of Bangladesh.

Aurora was born in 1916 in Kala Gujran, Jhelum district, British India and died in New Delhi, India.
