James W. Reilly
104th Ohio Infantry 1st Brigade, 3rd Division, XXIII Corps
Reilly was born May 20, 1828, in Akron, Ohio. He was educated at Mount St. Marys College in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and later studied law. He passed his bar exam and established a successful practice in Wellsville, Ohio, in Columbiana County. In 1858, he entered politics, and was elected as a Republican to the Ohio House of Representatives, where he eventually supported the policies of President Abraham Lincoln.
