Jeremi Winiowiecki nicknamed Hammer on the Cossacks or Iron Hand, was a notable member of the aristocracy of the PolishLithuanian Commonwealth, Prince of Winiowiec, ubnie and Chorol in the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland and the father of the future King of Poland, Michael I.

Jeremi Micha Korybut Winiowiecki was born in 1612 neither the exact date nor the place of his birth are known. His father, Micha Winiowiecki, of the LithuanianRuthenian Winiowiecki family, died soon after Jeremis birth, in 1616. His mother, Regina Mohya was a Moldavianborn noble woman of the Movileti family, daughter of the Moldavian Prince Ieremia Movil, Jeremys namesake she died in 1619. Both of his parents were of the Eastern Orthodox Church rite Jeremys uncle was the influential Orthodox theologian Peter Mogila, and his greatuncle was George Mogila, the Metropolitan of Moldavia.
