Ricardo Emmanuel Brown , better known by his stage name Kurupt, is an American rapper, actor and former Executive Vice President of Death Row Records. He is a member of the rap group Tha Dogg Pound, and is mostly known for his work with Death Row Records. He is also a member of the hiphop supergroup The HRSMN.

Ricardo Emmanuel Brown was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a result, he has associated himself somewhat with Philadelphia and its rap scene. He moved to California when he wasfirst, to Hawthorne then, when he was 18, to Crenshaw. In 1991, he made his first appearance as a recording artist by appearing on three songs on The S.O.S. Bands 1991 album One of Many Nights.
