Laurence Bankart


Laurence Hardy Bankart was an American football player and coach. He was the 15th head football coach for the Colgate University Raiders located in the Village of Hamilton in Madison County, New York and he held that position for five seasons, for 1910 and then again from 1913 until 1916. His overall coaching record at Colgate waswins,losses, andties. This ranks him sixth at Colgate in terms of total wins and second at Colgate in terms of winning percentage. Bankharts five years as coach was the longesttenured football coach at Colgate since the first coach Samuel Colgate, Jr. headed the program for three years until 1929, when Andrew Andy Kerr took over the program forseasons. Bankart was born on October 16, 1887 in Bradford, England.
