Liliuokalani

Liliuokalani , born Lydia Liliu Loloku Walania Wewehi Kamakaeha, was the last monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaii. She was also known as Lydia Kamakaeha Pk, with the chosen royal name of Liliuokalani, and her married name was Lydia K. Dominis.

Lydia Liliu Loloku Walania Wewehi Kamakaeha was born on September 2, 1838 to the High Chieftess Analea Keohoklole and High Chief Caesar Kaluaiku Kapaakea. She was hnai adopted at birth to Abner Pk and his wife Laura Knia. The adoption was a Hawaiian tradition where family members who had no children of their own were given children from other family members to raise as their heirs. As a young child she would spend much of her time with her foster sister Bernice Pauahi, the Pks natural daughter.
